CONSORZIO TUTELA VINI MONTEFALCO

Since 1981, wine producers of Montefalco have joined together in the Montefalco Consortium.

The Consortium is responsible for coordinating with local producers and guiding them in both constant quality research and the promotion of the quintessential wines of the territory.

The key elements of the Consortium statute are: protection of the viticulture in the production zone and of the Montefalco denomination wines; promotion of the Montefalco denomination wines;  monitoring to ensure that wines that do not comply with the production specifications are not marketed under the Association trademark; surveillance to prevent abuse, fraud or irregular use of the denominations.

The Consortium (which currently has 231 members of which 59 wineries) represents more than 80% of the certified production of Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG and Montefalco DOC in the region.
