Clivo del Cardinale is a small company made up of young, predominantly female, motivated members with a passion for pursuing a philosophy of sustainable agronomic production that respects the environment and, above all, the health of the consumer.
Three members, three families, three stories but one single orientation. We have chosen to abolish chemical soil improvers and decided to invest in treatments with natural products, respecting the cultivation regulations of the Montefalco area and, above all, the environment. The 13-hectare estate, of which 9 are cultivated with vineyards and 4 with olive groves, extends over the enchanting hilly area of Montefalco in the Fabbri area and boasts excellent exposure.
The land extends over a slope, opposite Trevi dell'Umbria, from which the company borrowed its name. Legend has it that a Cardinal liked to stop in this part of the territory and his passion for Montefalco, the oil and wines that have made this area famous throughout the world. We produce Sagrantino, Montefalco Rosso, Grechetto di Montefalco plus a classic method and a rosé, both based on 100% Sagrantino. All the grapes come directly from our vineyards, which are on average twenty to thirty years old.
