The Consorzio Tutela Vini Montefalco - Consorzio for the safeguard of Montefalco wines - was founded in 1981 to coordinate the local companies in the constant search of quality, by means of instruments aimed to value and promote local wines.
The Consorzio has the task of guaranteeing the high production standards and promoting Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG and Montefalco DOC around the world.
The main goal is to consolidate the fame gained by the wines of Montefalco area, pursuing top quality, identity and typicality as the only way to success.
Recently, the Consorzio has also been entrusted with the protection of the appellation ‘DOC Spoleto’, focused on the production of white wines made from the local variety Trebbiano Spoletino.
The Consorzio Tutela Vini Montefalco, therefore, promotes, values and protects, through its members, an increasingly diverse and important range of wines.
