The Alessandrini Andrea company is a small family winery situated in one of the best wine-growing zones of Montefalco, an area that is acclaimed for the production of fine wines such as the Montefalco Sagrantino.
The winery covers 15 hectares, of which six are dedicated to the cultivation of Sagrantino, Sangiovese, Merlot and Trebbiano Toscano, while the reminder is used for cultivating cereal crops.
The vineyard enjoys an optimum orientation which allows for the production of quality wines.
From its beginnings in 1926 when nonno Alessandrini Bulduino set up the business, authenticity has been the characteristic guiding this winery. This philosophy continues today with Andrea at the helm, and his sister Francesca, parents Romoaldo and Maria and his nephew Riccardo at his side.
The Alessandrini have been vintners for generations and now, with Andrea, they are in a phase of renewal, while at the same time being careful to maintain those old-fashioned values that distinguish the philosophy of quality production. Still today, members of the family can be seen devoting their time with passion and some sacrifice, to the various activities associated with the winery: special mention must go to the meticulous manner in which the grapes are hand-picked and placed in small boxes before undergoing the traditional wine-making process. The wine is then left to rest in small wooden casks before the taster has the pleasure of sampling the fruits of this arduous labour. The winery is always open and available to those who wish to visit and taste our splendid wines. Guided tours are available, and include wine tasting paired with typical locally-grown products. And for those who wish to take home a memento of their visit, cellar-door sales are also available.
